Filtration for Critical Applications

Sintered nonwoven metal fibers are useful for critical filtration applications.  Since these fibers are expensive, they are not suitable for mainstream applications. They are, however, suitable for applications where polymer and paper filter medias are ineffective.  These applications include high purity, high viscosity fluids (polymers); corrosive fluids; and high-temperature fluids.  Sintered nonwoven metal filters are advantageous because they can typically be cleaned and reused.

A large volume of IntraMicron's fibers have been used in filters that trap particles as smaller than 0.01 microns and all particles at and above 0.05 microns.  As with any filter, smaller fibers enable smaller particles to be trapped.
